It's been plastered all over the news, but Republican gubernatorial candidate Andy Martin supposedly has a warrant for his arrest in Champaign County. Per a report on WDWS today, Martin filed a $10 million dollar lawsuit against the county. He called it a "political smear" by some people in higher office. He has mentioned presiding judge Tom DiFanis quite often. He's scheduled to be at a debate this Friday at WILL TV . One would think that Sheriff Walsh would execute the warrant then. Comments?
WANTED: Candidate for Governor

Wow, high political theatre. Where's the popcorn?
Woah. And to think, he was just in town not too long ago.
Apparently, he's also stopping by the DI office in the near future as well for a chat with reporters.
Seems rather trite though.
What makes Mr. Martin(-Trigona) any different than the rest of us?
If any of us had a known arrest warrant in Champaign County, and it was a well known fact that we'd be in Champaign County at a certain place at a certain time, wouldn't you be expecting a visit from a couple of deputies?
You know, if I had a warrant out for me, running for Governor probably wouldn't be first on my "to-do" list.
How can you just not show up for court and expect there to be no consequences? (Isn't that essentially the charge?)
It may not have been worth chasing him down, but if he is just going to publically show up in town, I think the police and S.A. have an obligation to do there job.
Well, this gadfly has been suing everyone for years. Remember him as Anthony Martin Trigona? I bet he'd love (loves) the attention. Can you say "nutcase"? I mean, the guy has issues!
If Andy shows up to the DI for that edit board, maybe we'll be seeing Kiyoshi on an upcoming episode of COPS.
What do Anthony R. Martin-Trigona and Matt Varble have in common?
Nutcases with hubris seeking election through odd perspectives.
Varble reminds of a young Andy Martin.
Sorry. Cheap shot insults. I won't do it again.
Martin filed a $10 million dollar lawsuit against the county. He called it a political smear by some people in higher office.
Uh, yeah, I'm sure that's it. And I'm sure suing your constituents is going to get you a lot of votes. What a whackjob.
There you go again obsessed with Varble. Can you give it a rest and quit devoting so much PR to him? He's a non-issue and you're looking much more like the idiot here. I was enjoying the Martin thread.
After burning all of his bridges here, Martin-Trigona headed East, where eventually a federal judge entered an order forbidding Martin-Trigona from filing lawsuits without that court's prior permission. I don't know when and if that order expired, but it was designed to prevent Martin-Trigona from filing this kind of suit, which he generates like most people generate dandruff.
On the other hand, I wouldn't put it past him to believe that changing his name will protect him.

02-06-06 CIVIL PRELIMINARY STATEMENT ON FILE BY PETITIONER PRO SE
During the last debate, Martin said he wanted to decentralize the state government and privatize all education. I had the "Looney Tunes" theme going through my head every time he spoke. He even made the Constitutionalist candidate seem normal.
Martin and Varble play ping pong with party affiliation, also.
