FEC Shutdown

The headline "FEC heads toward shutdown" excites me greatly.

In its entire existance, the Federal Election Commission has accomplished nothing positive.  When discussing a potential FEC shutdown, the only question should be how to make it permanent.

George Will had much the same point in his article from a couple days ago...Paralyze the FEC? Splendid.

I know your stance on the matter IP; i've not done enough digging to offer an opinion on the FEC, McCain-Feingold, and so on.  I am a big fan of the idea you floated previously:  complete, total, 100% disclosure (online or in paper) within a definite timeframe after an election (i think you once said 72 hours, but i'm not sure...)

Thanks - I'm sure you meant full online disclosure within 72 hours of the contribution, not the election, as is my wish.

well, McCain Feingold hasn't much worked to reduce money. now, republicans need to learn how to use it to their advantage. i don't see it going away now that it's got the stamp of approval from the SC. and one scandal will be enough for everyone to give the FEC all it needs.
