McCain/Huckabee ticket

I was pondering whether a McCain Huckabee ticket would get the Southern Republicans behind McCain? I do not see really that much enthusiasm for a McCain/Romney ticket.

McCain came in 2nd behind huck in Southern States... he'd do fine in the south with a conservative VP with a stronger record.  McCain has generally been the overwhelming 2nd pick of Huck supporters so a McCain/Huck ticket wouldn't help him as much as hurt him.  He needs to bridge the gap with conservatives who don't trust his record on other issues beyond the talk radio laundry list.  Huck doesn't help him there.

McCain needs to pick a running mate that conservatives think would make a good President.  Remember, Johnny isn't exactly a spring chicken.  I don't think the geography will matter that much if its the right person.

I think he needs a conservative from the Northeast as a running mate.

He has burned a lot of bridges, hasn't he.

Is there such a thing?  Once you get past PA, I can't think of any.

The party needs to prevent socialized medicine, but needs to promote Universal Health Care for Children, starting by building clinics in all school districts.  We waste so much money through Govenment programs.  McCain needs to ask Romney to do this important task as his vice president.   Mitt said no to saving the Olympics the first time too.

This is important because if either Obama or Hillary win, we need to have modeled a non-government form of Universal Health Care for Children.  We cannot afford the pensions of more government employees.  People that work for government need to understand that there is no free lunch.  They just do not realize how much we pay now for way we handle this for our kids.

McCain hates Romney, and the GOP south (and IP) doesn't trust him - I don't see it happening.

McCain- Anyone ===> Guarantee for at least 4 years of O'Bama or the unthinkable alternative.

Sleep well.

Let's have some fun.  What would you do to prop up the old man and  try  to construct a strategy with McCain at the top of the ticket where Republicans would have a chance to beat Hillary or Obama.  In my mind you would almost need to have a "field roll" as that term is used in craps.  (sorry Gordy)  You  would announce that all have agreed.

McCain-President (gets the military and the old vote)

Joe Lieberman.  (Gets the Jewish vote too.)

Home Land Security Chief -Has to  be Rudy.  An announcement of Rudy gets the support of the abortion crowd.

Attorney General-Has to be Thompson.  What better than another "foot soldier"  going back to the Nixon days.

Department of Education-  Huckelberry Hound.  A  hero of the homeschool crowd.  Voucher's and church going volunteers.  A little bit of prayer makes  the "No Child Left Behind" go down smoothly.

Health and Human Service-  Non-government Universal Health Care for Children.  My man Romney. (Better than socialized medicine)

Surgeon General- Ron Paul.  (who else-Dean Adell)  Keep him busy talking about other stuff.

Counsel on Economic Advisors-Bill Gates (can help with deficit)

Press Spokesman-Newt Gingrich.

Secretary of State-You keep  C. Rice

Secretarly of Defense-General Scwartz be with You.

Huckabee would help only in states any Republican would win anyway, short of a Democrat landslide.  Sanford has the same pluses without the minuses.

Pawlenty makes the most sense.

A little more interesting now.

How about a McCain/Keyes ticket?

How about a McCain/Keyes ticket?

Well, Keyes was great in Borat.

Picking the second r third place primary candidate as your running mate is a losing strategy (Kerry/Edwards). It's a rank amateur move. It says, "I'm not good enough as you candidate, so I'll pick up the guy who ran second place so I can get votes".

McCain should pick someone that complements him but does not overshadow him. That'll be hard to do since McCain is lacking as a candidate to begin with. He lacks charisma and his message is basically G.W. Bush 2.0.

He'll probably pick some unknown, or maybe one of the candidates who dropped very early in the race.

yikes, pardon those typos.
