Let's see if it's now possible to link directly to someone's fundraising report. (Testing to see if this works...)
UPDATE: Nope - doesn't work. You can link to the list of reports for a committee, as above, but not directly to a specific report. How asinine.

For all the talk about the need to rein in Illinois' campaign finance system, a nice first step would be having a competent state agency in charge of disclosure. As it is, they do a good job of archiving the information but accessing, sharing and linking it is unnecessarily (deliberately?) difficult, making it that much harder for interested parties to dig out the really smelly stuff.
We've been badgering them about the asinine way in which they (don't) link campaign finance reports for three years. They roll out a revamped website, which would be a golden opportunity to fix it. But they don't.
Just asinine.
