Sen. Barack Obama yesterday on Tony Rezko: "This isn't the Tony Rezko I knew..."
Obama on April 29 on Rev. Jeremiah Wright: "the man I saw yesterday was not the man I knew for 20 years."
Anyone sensing a theme?

Funny, that's the same thing the Bush Administration is saying about Scott McLellan. Is this a standard excuse in politics now?
If the rumors of "the tape" of his wife saying some cruel things is true, would he go so far to admit that he didn't know his wife all this time either?
What a lightweight. I don't know who's lame excuses are the worst.... his or Hillary's.
Sounds like the same thing the Bush Administration is saying about Scott McLellan. Is this the new denial catch-phrase in politics?
krgray... almost verbatim, yes. It seems to be the general trend with old allies suddenly becoming liabilities.

Yeah, the theme I'm detecting is the obvious racism of anyone who would question Barack Obama, Messiah-in-Chief.

What was Obama's response to his other holy BFF, Pfledger? "He's not the man I gave over $200,000 in earmarks to..."?
ILvoter... Obama left the church over that one, because he didn't want to be held accountable for what every guest pastor may say there and the public scrutiny of his church community was just unfair to them.
So he didn't pull the "not the man I knew" routine... but he did dismiss his friend and advisor of roughly two decades, yet another moral compass, as just some guest pastor. This is more along the lines of the early Wright routine... even though he described him as a close friend, an advisor, a mentor, like family etc... he became just a pastor as the controversy flared up. Perhaps Pfleger will get the "not the man I knew" routine if it becomes a bigger issue down the road.
Who knows. I doubt Michelle will get disowned, rumor mills churning regardless. Her views seem to be more inbetween Obama's stated views and Wright. I'm sure some embarassing things will get dug up, but nothing that will get a disowning. It took some pretty harsh stuff getting heavy air play... not once, but twice with current confirmation to get him to dump Wright. Michelle will at most be featured in more attack ads is my prediction.

The funny thing is, Rezko is going to jail for being precisely the Tony Rezko Obama knew.
AnF,
If the rumors of "the tape" were true the rumors about the magic tape wouldn't be changing by the day (is the phrase on the magic tape "whitey" or "why'd he" as in "why'd Pres. Bush"; is it being released over the weekend?... on Monday?... in the middle of the week?...; is it a panel with Minister Farrakhan or his wife; etc.)
Oh, and if it actually existed this magic tape would've surfaced by now (when it would've perhaps helped Sen. Clinton).
Even Michelle Malkin thinks the bs about this rumor is bs....
Incidentally, Pflager is awesome. He really has done amazing stuff for the youth of the South Side. In many's eye's he's almost like some kind of superhero.
And it's not like Pflager's views are anything other than orthodox liberalism, it's just that he broke the liberal code about being honest about his beliefs in public. What he said isn't any different than what most education professors tell their students every day. The over-reaction among the public just shows how far we have to go to
indoctrinateshameeducate white people about their privilege and racism.Ahh yes...That isn't the Ayers "I" knew....That isn't the Michelle "I" knew....That isn't the Father Pfleger "I" knew; blah blah blah. Obama doesn't seem to have a good grip on his personal relationships. So now he wants to have afternoon tea with the wicked guy in Iran???
Ayers: Gave me a carbonated fruit juice
Michelle: Can't comment--seems nice, but I've never met her.
Pfleger: Never met him, but he's done a lot for the kids. That trumps pretty much anything in my eyes, especially compared to some of the people on this blog who seem to revel in the deaths of school kids.
Obama doesn't seem to remember Hillary either. He seems to be a little young to forget so much I hope it doesn't affect his ability to do his job if he gets to the White House. Oh on a side note about Obama and Rezko. I was speaking to a guy who is a realtor in Chicago who explained to me that the strip of land that Obama got from Rezko was actually part of a corner lot. I guess this is a common thing the city does to take land from unsuspecting citizens. They condemn a few feet along a corner lot and then by ordinance the parcel that is left is not large enough to build on, the land owner loses the use of the whole thing. So I guess from what this guy says that when Obama got the 10 foot feet cheap taking that 10 feet actually made the whole lot useless to build on to the corner for Rezko. Of course that means the only people that the lot is available to use are Rezko's neighbors the Obama's, gee I wonder how much the whole lot is worth? I thought it was an interesting story if true I wonder if Fitzgerald does?
