Technical Difficulties

I'm having technical difficulties, but for once it has nothing to do with the server.  My laptop is having an episode of the vapors, and it's probably going to take me until Monday to get everything formatted and re-installed and restored from backup.  Luckily, I don't think I've lost anything except a weekend.

So I hope you're enjoying yours!

"So I hope you're enjoying yours!"

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles this weekend, but you should know that your correct usage of, "you're" and "your", (in the same sentence, no less), brought a tear to my eye!  :-)

Heh.

I had a very, very severe woman teach me English.  I'm still the only person I know who will admit that I know how to diagram sentences, but IIRC we spent about three full years on it.  :-)

Yeah, we had to do that too.

An eighth grade teacher by the name of Mrs. Farney at St. Thomas School in Philo still teaches her students to diagram a sentence, and she reminds me of my errors every chance she gets. Thanks Mom.

I think you know all three of us, so that makes four.  Hooray for literacy.

I do know all of you, but I didn't know you could diagram.  It's not something that comes up in regular conversation, after all.

Maybe we could all get matching t-shirts proclaiming our authentic grammar geekiness?  ;-)

I live in fear that if I make an error in speaking or writing English the very strict (and utterly delightful!) woman who taught me in the 7th and 8th grades will find out and punish me.  I know we diagrammed sentences for 3 years in junior high; trying to remember if we had to do it in 5th grade, too.

Shall I add my name to the "grammar geek" t-shirt list?  I probably know several teachers who would be interested in getting them, too!

There, fixed that for you   :-)

Oh, no!! I want "grammar geek" shirts!!

(This may be a new way for IP to make money!  Will they be in adult sizes only, or will little Will model the onesie line?  Do we get to pick the color, or will it be white with black type?)

Not grammar related, but my favorite onesie for Will:

His pediatric orthopaedists and immunologists at Cardinal Glennon in St. Louis got quite a chuckle out of it.

My favorite onesie that my little girl wore was black with white letting which stated, "My Mom Puts Out"

A little crass?  Perhaps, but it made me chuckle.
