Health Care and Health Insurance--this morning on NPR there was an interesting story giving some facts about health care/insurance in countries not included in the previous discussion--UK, Netherlands, German, France, and Switzerland. You can view the information at http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=91972152
Again this morning, but on C-SPAN, there was a 30 minute conversation with Amy Myers Jaffe, a senior researcher in the James Baker Institute, Rice U. She is accepted as an expert on the oil situation and was one of the individuals who testified before Congress two weeks ago. This segment can be viewed at http://inside.c-spanarchives.org:8080/cspan/cspan.csp?command=dprogram&record=565408178
Both of these will add information to the previous discussions and clarify/correct some of the misinformation posted and arguments made.

Is it too late to run Pat Paulsen for President?
His chances would be as good as Bob Barr's.

For over 35 years, the Clean Water Act has protected our rivers, lakes, streams and wetlands from pollution and destruction. But an organized attempt by developers and polluters to weaken the Clean Water Act has created confusion over what waters should be protected.
Did this issue go to the Supreme Court? I remember some disagreement about the federal gov'ts jurisdiction over non-navigable waterways. How can Congress pass a bill to give them the right to regulate something outside their Constitutional control? (Gosh, that's a dumb question, isn't it?)

For those who participated in the subprime loan discussion, I just found this research article in JAPA, Journal of the American Planning Association, that shows an analysis of the available data on subprime loans and foreclosures.

McLean County Pundit has a whole new look that's a bit more user friendly and spiffy than the old version for anyone generally interested, or with old Boom-town links like me. It's one of my RSS daily reads.

Earth Justice is running radio ads to lobby Tim Johnson to vote for the Clean Water Restoration act.

McLean County Pundit has a whole new look
It is a nice clean look.
This is amazing! Bush is trying to pardon himself.

Should congress find Bush guilty of a crime retro actively would be the question? If the story is true.
