Couple Repugnicant state senators with an awful lot of money at their disposal....
Namecalling is sooooo persuasive.
Hypocrisy is sooooo persuasive
(Eg. "Naomi the Brainless")
"Hypocrisy is sooooo persuasive

I've apologized for that, numerous times. I've written lots of stupid things, especially when I was first getting started. It wasn't persuasive when I did it, and it's not persuasive when you do it either.
that is a lot of money for an uncontested Senate race, but not much money at all for a statewide run
Every time I see Dan Rutherford's name or see his face I am reminded of the incident at the Illinois Straw Poll where Senator Rutherford himself snatched a Ron Paul sign from a supporter and handed it to one of his friends who stomped on it. To me, that is who Dan Rutherford is.
"Every time I see Dan Rutherford's name or see his face I am reminded of the incident at the Illinois Straw Poll where Senator Rutherford himself snatched a Ron Paul sign from a supporter and handed it to one of his friends who stomped on it. To me, that is who Dan Rutherford is."
IIRC, the way the incident was reported was that a Ron Paul supporter kept shoving a yard sign in front of Dan, blocking the camera as he was trying to do a TV interview. I'm not defending Rutherford, but pointing out that if that's a correct reporting of the event, then it also reflects the worst stereotypes of Ron Paul supporters.
And the fact that such a stupid incident is still causing hard feelings is pretty indicative of the sad state of Illinois Republican politics, eh?
Dan Rutherford represents one characteristic of the sad state of the ILGOP. Rutherford is known Internationally for this incident.
"Wretched daughter of Babylon who art to be destroyed! Blessed shall he be who shall reward thee as thou hast rewarded us."
"Dan Rutherford represents what the sad state of the ILGOP is all about."
Thank you for illustrating my point for me. Again.
Lately it's like you're reading my mind, providing perfect examples of exactly the things I'm discussing. It's uncanny.
And the video is great, too, also illustrating my point. Uncanny, I tell you.
Dan Rutherford was far from the problem in this case.
Rutherford does have a decent voting record as an opposer of tax-eaters. A Democrat in that position would have been much much worse.
As for Rutherford, He put his money on Mitt Romney:
9/27/07
RUTHERFORD, DAN MR, CHENOA,IL 61726
$2,300 Romney, Mitt (R)
And then he took it back again less than a week later:
10/03/07
RUTHERFORD, DAN MR, CHENOA, IL 61726
$-2,300 Romney, Mitt (R)
That's a neat trick. Can anybody ask for their campaign donation back?
