I think my favorite is this one, mainly because it's the stereotypical cake gone wrong.
Happy Friday!

History Guy, I am laughing so hard at those cakes with the instructions on... of course they would be the perfect dessert to serve at this lovely restaurant:

Didn't Ron Paul just endorse Rep. Don Young (R-AK) in his primary battle for re-election?
Sad.

And without getting into the debate of whether the transportation budget should go up or down, the transportation budget has in fact gone up. I posted on this at the time of the political flare up over the issue:
In fact the transportation budget under Bush through the 2006 budget has gone up nearly $23.4 billion or 50%.
But hey, this could be less than the Clinton Administration in a time of no war, right? Wrong.
The transportation budget under Clinton went up $13.5 Billion or about 40.5%. And that was over his full eight years. The budget has actually gone up more under Bush in a shorter time and is still increasing.
But given "Dr. No's" political philosophy, somehow I doubt he'd honestly increase that part of the budget more than either of the last two administrations.

why exactly do we need federal transportation money these days - shouldn't this all be handled by states?

It is a little strange about the Don Young matter. Ron Paul's wife Carol has been in the hospital for the last two to three weeks in serious to critical condition and was just released from the hospital. She was in bad shape at the time that the Don Young endorsement was said to have occurred.
Carol Paul entered the hospital on 11 August and was just released 2 days ago after several abdominal surgeries. This endorsement was said to have occurred about the 18th when she was in critical condition and it was said that Dr. Paul was not leaving the hospital in Texas at that time.

Unfortunately, Young won, and by only a few hundred votes. It's likely that the Paul endorsement made the difference for him. Very disappointing.
