Back months and months ago, back before the Surge, there was a theory floating around the NRO that it would be necessary for a Dem to be in the White House in order for the US to win in Iraq.  The Dem Congress would resist a GOP Prez at every turn, but not a Dem Prez, and the Dem Prez won't retreat once in office.

Well, we will have the full Dem control soon.  Is the theory going to turn out accurate?

This is circulating in the email today--- Grover Norquist, who was a speaker at Ron Paul's Rally for the Republic in September, is requesting TARP funds for his organization Americans for Tax Reform.

(I would have posted in Friday Funnies but there is a serious discussion going on in there that I ought not "threadjack", and it's Tuesday.)

I am fully aware that some $125 billion has already been allocated as of October 29, 2008.  However, given that the federal government has the full weight of the army, the FBI, etc. behind it, I am confident that you can re-appropriate this money from the likes of Wells Fargo (or their successor companies, if the current over-regulatory and over-taxing economic climate has caused them to go under)...
