So now there are seven. Mmmph.
Jim Ryan. Are you kidding me? What is he thinking? Loser -- more than once. Scandal-tainted -- the Rolando Cruz re-trial. And then, "cursed" Ryan name in Illinois politics. (Please note the now failed Olympic bid led by Pat Ryan of Aon.).
Look, we'd all like to pretend that it is more sophisticated, but we all know that, when it comes down to it, people vote with their gut. (Somewhere in between the heart and the brain and their butt.) And, this early, it is really more about heart. So, is somebody outside of DuPage County "loving" Jim Ryan? No. So what is he doing? If he raises enough to go 3-months, I'll be shocked.
So, here I sit, as a Democrat, "dissing" the "Haves," while looking at the awesome choice of the "Governor," Pat Quinn vs. Dan Hynes. Whew, won't that be a hoot of a campaign. I had lost all hope of ay entertainment until I saw the hatchet-job Quinn has already rolled out. That boy doesn't pull his punches. Too bad he's punch-drunk. Illinois politics will do that to you. Look at Mike the King.
Madigan smartly cleared his daughter out of the inevitable tax increase / budget cut nightmare that is coming to Illinois. (I may be a liberal, but I know there is no happy ending to the mess that is the Illinois budget.)
Then, he puts on Pat Quinn's desk, a campaign-finance reform that solidifies his fiefdom. But, time is catching him. There has to be some sort of end game brewing. My guess is that he'll bow before she runs next cycle.
So, maybe, just maybe, there is a bit of light on the horizon. In 10 years, Illinois might have a good government. Crazier things have happened -- ask Rolando Cruz.

Uh, OK. Thanks for sharing?
