Does anyone here use Netflix and if so have you noticed a slowdown in your shipping?
I have noticed that my shipping center is no longer Springfield, but now seems to be Carol Stream, even though I have received one DVD from Bloomington.
I know it could easily be the holidays increasing the amount of mail at USPS, but I have a feeling it is due to the change in my shipping center and was wondering if anyone else had noticed the same.

I noticed that it took them an extra day to receive my last movie I sent in, but I still got the next one a day later.

I have used Netflix for about 5 years now and love it. I have not noticed any slow down at all in shipping, in fact I was just telling someone that it seems like it is faster than it used to be. There was an interesting article about Netflix and how their system works in the Tribute a few months back. Seems like the system is pretty well thought out and about as streamlined as it can be for a business using the USPS for their deliveries.

I have been told speculatively that if one is a heavy users of Netflix then a slow down in sending out requests appears to begin. :-)

My wife is one of those "heavy users of Netflix" - two or three movies each week. We have noticed no slow down in their service.

Hey all,
Pardon me for changing the subject, but there was an interesting thread about rental property a little while back, and it triggered some questions. Like a lot of people who have lived here a long time (20 + years for me), I've been pretty amazed at the amount of rental property that's been built in the last decade. Every time I am sure we must have reached the saturation point, another new tower goes up.
So my question is: what is the rental market like in C-U? Are we indeed oversaturated? And to what extent? what is renting, and what isn't?
thanks

In my opinion:
The market for places in neat older building with appeal to post college age persons is not saturated. I cannot speak for the campus furnished market. There seems is a slight excess of supply over demand for single family houses in parts of the community where lower income households tend to live.

Was a bigger deal a couple years back. There was a class action lawsuit over their delaying of movies, especially new releases, that effectively negated their claims of 'unlimited' rentals. If I recall correctly the settlement didn't involve admitting fault but got you a free month or two of movies. I ended up dropping their service because it was getting obnoxious.

I tried to make a post under Wayward's blog regarding Thomson and it went to moderation. I've not experienced that before. Did I do something wrong?

Poor Richard, there's a post by you showing in that thread. I know it sometimes sends stuff to moderation if there are links in a post.

Yes, I freed the post from moderation last night after PR posted. The spam filter caught it, for whatever reason.
