A Resource for the Constitutional Convention of 2008.

One thing for certain, Illinois is on
the precipice of becoming a collectivist stronghold and
forever-federal-municipality, totally exsanguinated of state sovereignty and
autonomy. A chance at a new constitution comes along every 20 years,
notwithstanding a demand or revolt by the People. I fear that the coming call
for a convention will fall on the deafened ears of the populace thanks to the
incessant din of naysayers and oligarchs who have found ample room in our
current constitution for furthering their mischief. The People, fat, dumb, and
beneficially satiated will not cut off the despots to spite their benefits;
while those who attempt to assert their self-determination and unalienable
rights are relegated to the junk drawer of “kook-dom” and” fringe-ality”.

Our rulers say, "How dare you exhibit
such audacity towards your rightful sovereign who protects, feeds, educates,
heals, and rules you by way of your coerced allegiance!" The Illinois
Constitution is the artifice for a sinking ship whose hull is rotting, flooded,
and compromised. The rats are surrounded by rising water on the main deck; and
on the horizon a plethora of programs, benefits, and privileges for those
willing to step off of the wreck and onto the slave-ship "collectivism".

There is still time to salvage the
vessel, but it will take courage to forge a document strong enough to keep us
afloat and fend off encroaching do-gooder legislators. We must emblazon a new
constitution with unequivocal statements regarding our retained sovereignty,
unalienable rights, accountability ONLY to our Creator, and a defined,
enumerated, responsive, and servile government.

There is much research and outreach to
do if we are to appeal to the notions of popular sovereignty, natural rights,
and reasonable people in control of their own lives. We cannot withstand another
20 years of decay.
